For 12 years, we have known that there were tenants in our home that were no longer living. I, myself, had never seen anyone, but my oldest son and 2 very good friends saw the “nice man” in my basement. The one upstairs by my bedroom likes to mimic sounds and bang on doors. For a long time, they didn’t bother us or make us feel uncomfortable. However, the past year, there seemed to be a change in the dynamic at our home.

I began to feel uneasy, extremely sad, and incredibly overwhelmed…especially when I was home alone. My oldest son noticed a big change and stated that the “bad man” in the basement had come out of the shadows and was angry. My friend said that the “nice man” in the basement looked sad and watched her from the windows, and the other one made her skin crawl.

Odyssey Paranormal Society had been in our town doing a reveal at the local brewery and I spoke with Mike and Josie briefly there and they told me if I ever wanted them to come investigate, just to reach out.

Honestly, I stressed over my decision. However, the feelings that continued to overwhelm me finally sent me to the edge and I emailed Mike one night. He asked a lot of questions and genuinely worked toward understanding everything I was going through.

The night of the investigation, Mike, Josie and Scott came to our home and when they left, it was the first genuinely relieved look I had seen on my oldest son’s face in years. The team was professional and knowledgeable, respectful of the living and the dead, and made us feel like we were validated in our feelings and emotions.

They didn’t get a lot of evidence, but the purpose of this investigation, at least for us, was not to gather a lot of evidence but rather to put us and our home at ease. Since the investigation, life in our home has been calm and happy. We have had a few instances of noises we’ve heard before, but the sadness and heaviness and fear is completely gone.

Odyssey Paranormal Society is the real deal, they aren’t sensationalized ghost hunters, they aren’t looking to make a quick buck (they don’t even charge), and they don’t walk out of your home and forget about you. Mike goes above and beyond with his team and his clients and their heart for others shines through each of them. We are so blessed to have had them in our home and so thankful for the changes that have occurred since they were here.
